This policy covers Humanity: First Year on every platform it ships on: the browser build at binaryhelix.dev, the Android app (package dev.binaryhelix.hfy), and any iOS or desktop build published by Binary Helix.
Offline expeditions and Flight School keep their saves and settings on your device. The Online Universe is offered in the browser build only for now; the Android and iOS apps do not include it. Optional Online Universe play sends data to Binary Helix's game server: your chosen callsign, password during secure sign-in, account identifier, fleet and equipment, credits, movement and combat orders, ship losses and gameplay state. Choose a callsign that does not identify you personally. We do not ask for your name, email address, date of birth or payment details.
Online data is used to authenticate you, enforce ship ownership, operate shared combat and preserve your fleet across sessions. Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted, computationally expensive hashes; session tokens are stored as hashes on the server. The game has no advertising, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting service. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Online score boards are off unless you turn them on. If you do, then each time a finished run beats your best on its board the game sends our game server the name you chose for the boards, the score, a short summary of the run (start, difficulty, map size, how it ended, fights won and play time) and a random install id the game made on your device when you turned them on. They are used only to show the boards and your place on them, and to refuse scores no run could have made. The server keeps the name, your best score on each board, its start, difficulty and ending, the install id and the date; it does not keep the rest. Turn online scores off in Options > Gameplay and nothing more is sent. To delete your online scores, press Delete my online scores in the same place, or email linh@ai-hacker.com with the install id shown there. Scores on your device and achievements never leave it.
Offline saves and settings stay in local storage. If you sign in to Online Universe, the device also keeps a session token so you can reconnect. Signing out removes that token. Uninstalling or clearing site data removes local data; it does not delete a persistent online account.
In Online Universe, open Haven, then Account & privacy → Delete online account. You can also delete your account on this website without reinstalling the app. Confirm your callsign and password. Your account, password hash, sessions, credits and identifiable fleet records are removed. Active ships withdraw under an anonymous crew so deletion cannot undo another player's shared combat state. Anonymous ship and combat history is retained for universe consistency and duplicate-loss prevention; it no longer references your account or callsign.
Restricted disaster-recovery backups can contain earlier account data for up to eight days before automatic expiry. A restricted deletion journal keeps the former account's random identifier and deletion time for up to ten days so recovery can reapply deletions made after a backup. Backups are used only for recovery. If you cannot sign in or need help deleting data, contact linh@ai-hacker.com with your callsign; never send your password.
When you load the browser build, the web server that serves it records the ordinary access log entry every web server records: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are used only to keep the site running and are rotated automatically.
The Android and iOS apps are free to try, with one in-app purchase that unlocks the full game. Google Play or the App Store takes the payment under its own privacy policy; Binary Helix never receives your card or billing details. To check and restore the purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service that processes data on our behalf. RevenueCat receives a random app user identifier it creates for this install, and the store's record of your Full Game purchase (product, date, price, currency and a purchase token). The app turns off RevenueCat's diagnostics and its collection of device identifiers such as the advertising identifier. This is used only to unlock the game and restore it on your devices. To have your purchase record deleted from RevenueCat, email linh@ai-hacker.com; the store keeps its own order record.
If you install the game through Google Play, the App Store or Steam, those stores process your purchase and installation under their own privacy policies. Binary Helix receives only the aggregate figures those stores show every developer.
Offline play requires no account. Do not include a child's real name or other personal details in an online callsign. A parent or guardian can contact us about deleting a child's online data.
This page and the applicable store disclosures will be updated when the game's data practices change.
